ACCOMPLISH GOALS THROUGH CONSISTENCY
As a fitness coach, helping clients achieve their health and fitness goals requires consistent effort and commitment. While success may seem like it happens in a moment, it is actually...
built over time through consistent actions. In my years of experience, I have seen the power of consistency in achieving long-term sustainable success. It is essential to focus on sustainability as short-term success is not enough to create lasting change.
When we look at successful people, we can often see a pattern of consistent actions that have led to their success. The same is true for fitness goals. To achieve desired outcomes, we need to focus on consistency in our behaviors and create healthy lifestyle habits.
For example, let's consider the goal of losing those last 10 pounds. Many coaches jump straight into counting macros and putting their clients into a caloric deficit. However, the best approach might be to focus on building healthy food habits first.
Eating whole, quality foods that include animal protein, high-quality fats, and high-quality plants, improving the relationship with food, creating a calm, parasympathetic environment, chewing your food, and getting in light movement post-meal can help build a strong foundation of healthy food habits. These habits will not only help with weight loss but will also set the stage for long-term sustainable success.
It is crucial to understand why most coaches do not take this approach. Through conversations with coaches that come through CCP, I have noticed a recurring theme: they believe it is "hard," their clients are not "bought in," or they simply don’t know how to do it.
As coaches, it is our responsibility to use our knowledge and consult with our clients to get that buy-in.
The key is to focus on consistency and develop healthy habits that will serve as the building blocks for your clients' goals. Taking small, consistent steps and making them a part of their daily routine can help them achieve their desired outcomes in a sustainable, lasting way.
The power of consistency cannot be overstated when it comes to achieving any goal. By focusing on healthy habits and taking small, consistent steps, you can build a strong foundation for sustainable success. Whether the goal is to lose weight, build muscle, create consistency, or improve overall fitness, consistency is the key to achieving desired outcomes for each client you coach.
In the OPEX Coaching Certificate Program (CCP), I teach coaches the science, principles and systems they need to deliver a holistic coaching service. This includes building and progressing sustainable habits inside and outside of the gym.
