HOW COVID-19 EXPOSED THE FLAWS IN THE FITNESS INDUSTRY
“So you are 3 years into coaching, now have a podcast, “success,” and are teaching folks how to “scale it” online; Stop it! Go back to teaching people, in person, how to move, towards autonomy, for another 10-15 years, then come back and attempt to teach others the “good word.” We need better craftspersons in fitness coaching, not technician to perceived master jumpers; and ironically, you will be more efficient when you come back and actually make sense.”

UNITED BY FITNESS: A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL AT OPEX HORIZON WEST
The couple actually met each other initially at OPEX Horizon West where they quickly bonded over their past stressful relationships. Gavin at the time happened to be (and still is) one of the coaches at OPEX Horizon West. The relationship began, albeit unknown to them, as a close friendship. For the better part of a year, the two would continue to grow closer and communicate more frequently. It finally reached a point where everyone else in the gym suspected they were dating and constantly made incorrect references to them as a couple. However, this spurred them to consider each other as romantic partners rather than close friends.
LONGEVITY AND HEALTH VS. PERFORMANCE
James, a proponent of individual design, highlights that the main difference is autonomy. Individual design gives clients programs created specifically for them with the goal of long term health “our goal is to create a gym that our clients can use forever” added James. Group fitness focuses on delivering the cortisol hit clients are looking for and adds to the already short half-life of that methodology.
